Sometimes, I look like a human

‘I’ve been burned so many times, I’m basically the human equivalent of the inside of a roasted marshmallow’

David Rose, Schitt’s Creek

And to be fair, the inside of a roasted marshmallow is pretty awesome.

My name is Lauriane, and I have what you can call terrible karma. It has always been the case – it started with my brother always getting the best toy when we shared Kinder eggs, and it carried on until I was diagnosed with womb cancer in October 2019, at age 27.

A year on, I am making a full recovery (fingers crossed), trying to get my life back on track and filling my days with crafts, a lot of binge-watching, a little bit of cooking, and some writing.

I am originally from France, but have been living in the UK for over six years now. I have a passion for languages, glue guns, German football, and dark chocolate.

I have always found writing very soothing, and so I hope this helps me find a way to let go of the past and relax, whilst helping others going through the same experience I had.

I will use a lot of self-deprecating humour. I think at this point, it is a way of coping and being honest, without getting completely overwhelmed.
